KYC and AML Policy at Stake

Stake implements identity verification and anti-money laundering procedures in compliance with current regulations in Argentina. These policies are designed to ensure user safety, protect the integrity of the platform, and comply with legal obligations regarding the prevention of terrorist financing. The implementation of these controls reflects Stake’s commitment to a safe, transparent, and regulated gaming environment.

Purpose of the Verification and Prevention Policies

Stake implements identity verification and anti-money laundering controls to confirm the identity of each account holder, prevent fraud, and combat financial crimes. These procedures uphold the following commitments to users:

  • Fair play: equal conditions for all users registered on the platform.
  • User protection: safeguarding the personal data and funds of each account.
  • Transparency: clear communication regarding regulatory requirements and compliance obligations.
  • Regulatory compliance: ongoing adherence to the regulatory requirements established by the competent authorities in Argentina.

Identity Verification Requirements

All new users must complete the identity verification process before accessing certain platform features or processing withdrawal requests. As part of this process, the following types of documentation may be requested:

  • Official photo ID: national ID card, passport, or other document issued by a government authority that confirms the account holder’s identity.
  • Proof of address: documentation verifying the user’s residential address, issued recently.
  • Confirmation of ownership of the payment method: proof that the payment method used belongs to the registered account holder.

Anti-Money Laundering Measures

Stake implements a set of controls designed to detect and prevent money laundering, terrorist financing, and any other illicit activity within the platform. Among the security measures in place are:

  • Transaction and activity monitoring: continuous tracking of transactions carried out in each account to identify unusual or risky patterns.
  • Automated detection rules: automated systems that identify suspicious behavior in real time.
  • Enhanced due diligence: expanded verification procedures applied in high-risk situations or when red flags are detected.
  • Review of high-value or atypical transfers: analysis of transactions that exceed defined thresholds or exhibit unusual characteristics.
  • User risk scoring: classification of accounts based on the level of risk associated with their behavior and profile.
  • Sanctions and politically exposed persons (PEP) screening: verification of users against international sanctions lists and registries of politically exposed persons.
  • Reporting to competent authorities: submission of reports to regulatory bodies when required by applicable regulations.

Prohibited Activities on the Platform

Stake establishes clear usage restrictions to preserve the integrity of the platform and comply with financial crime prevention obligations. The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Creating multiple accounts: Registering more than one account per user is strictly prohibited.
  • Submission of forged or stolen documentation: The submission of documents that do not belong to the account holder or that have been altered constitutes a serious violation.
  • Attempts at money laundering: Any transaction intended to conceal, transfer, or legitimize funds of illicit origin.
  • System manipulation: Actions intended to alter the platform’s operation, its results, or its control mechanisms.
  • Transfer or sale of account access: The transfer of access to a registered account to third parties, for any reason, is prohibited.
  • Use of third-party payment methods: The use of payment methods that do not belong to the account holder is not permitted.
  • Identity theft: Providing false personal information or using another person’s identity during the registration or verification process.

Consequences of Noncompliance

Failure to comply with identity verification and anti-money laundering policies will result in corrective measures being taken by Stake. In the event of a confirmed violation or suspicious activity, the following actions may be taken: temporary or permanent suspension of the account, freezing or confiscation of funds linked to the irregular activity, voiding of bets or winnings associated with prohibited conduct, and filing of reports with the competent authorities when required by applicable Argentine law.

User Responsibilities

Each account holder is required to provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information during the registration process and at any subsequent time when personal information is requested. The identity verification process must be completed within the timeframes specified by the platform; unjustified delays may result in the temporary restriction of account functions or the suspension of the account. In response to any request for additional documentation from the compliance team, the user must respond in a timely manner with the required information. The use of payment methods must be strictly limited to instruments owned by the user, in accordance with data protection and account security obligations. If suspicious activity is detected related to the user’s own account or to third parties within the platform, the user is required to report it through Stake’s official support channels.

Fair Play and Transparency on the Platform

Stake upholds the principles of fair play and transparency as fundamental pillars for user protection and the maintenance of a safe and regulated environment. The principles governing the platform’s operations in this area are:

  • Compliance with verification and prevention standards: rigorous application of KYC and AML procedures in accordance with current regulatory requirements in Argentina.
  • Confidentiality and protection of personal data: safeguarding each user’s information in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.
  • Continuous monitoring of suspicious activity: ongoing review of transactions to identify and manage risky behavior.
  • Prevention of manipulation and unfair conduct: active controls to prevent practices that undermine fair participation conditions.
  • User assistance regarding security: availability of support channels to address inquiries and reports related to account security and responsible gaming.
  • Shared responsibility: the integrity of the platform depends both on Stake’s internal controls and on the active compliance of each registered user.
  • Equal conditions for all users: uniform application of verification and prevention policies, without exceptions, to ensure a fair gaming environment.
